Featuring: Au Pair In America in Costa Rica | Photojournalism by Summer Lynn |

So.

This is the part when I pretend like I'm a NatGeo photographer sent on a special expedition on the other side of the globe to document Nature in all its wonder.

Because NatGeo would want none other than me, of course.

Actually . . .
I did get to travel someplace pretty cool with the agency I work for as an Au Pair In America Community Counselor - Costa Rica - where I had one glorious day to make as many photographs as I possibly could. I get the unique privilege of overseeing new au pairs from all over the world (including scenic Costa Rica!) as they adjust to life and learn to thrive here in the United States. These young women are bright, intelligent and experienced child care providers, giving host families an opportunity to offer their children a global education during their most formative years, by learning about the world through the au pair’s culture and customs. And on a personal level, it is so fulfilling to see how these young women's whole lives can be positively altered by the opportunities provided to them through our great program: the American colleges they get to attend, and the valuable work experience they are able to gain by being here in the United States. Au Pair In America is a division of the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS), which has provided educational and cultural exchange programs for more than 40 years.

(And if you'd like to learn more about

the world's most experienced intercultural live-in child care program

just ask me!)

It was a very quick trip, but I am ever so grateful. What a beautiful country! And the people are awesome. I was able to visit InBioParque, the Poas Volcano crater, as well as a picturesque coffee plantation called Tres Generaciones.

I will go back.

Maybe as a real NatGeo photographer.
And if working with young women from all over the planet has taught me anything, it's that . . .

A girl can dream :)

¡Pura Vida!

Closer to Fine | Atlanta's Newborn Photographer, Summer Lynn |

Anna is one of my best friends. I love her and her sweet little family so much. And every time I get my 'fix' from some hang-time with Anna, I really do feel 'Closer to Fine'. A little bit more happy, a little bit more sane, and little bit more at peace with . . . whatever. Anna has a way about her. We all need friends like that.

I'm trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
The best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life after all . . .

-Indigo Girls

So yeah, she doesn't look like she had a baby last week. But yeah, that's just how she rolls. She'll be in her skinny jeans next week, probably. Oh, and she's like, Super Mom too. Delivered her sweet baby Colin in less than 20 minutes. No big deal. :)

Anna, Buddy and Bella - I'm thrilled for this new start in your precious family! It was an absolute treat to take some photos of you all!

Bella found something pretty special in her Easter Basket this year. Don't you think? ;)

The Luckiest | Atlanta Wedding Photographer, Summer Lynn |

It really was an honor to be asked to shoot this wedding. What a beautiful event it was! I couldn't have done it without the help from my long-time friend and assistant for the day, Sara Engel. She is amazingly talented, so check out her website as well!

Britney and John had the fairytale wedding of their dreams on the Bride's family farm, Bogle Farms, here in Georgia. The location makes you feel like you are escaping from 'it all' and breathing in pure goodness.

The chic woodland decor was created by the fabulous designer, Sheila Grubb, and made for the perfect mix of earthy-enchantment.

True Love, magic, and a little bit of fantasy . . .

"And where was I before the day
when I first saw your lovely face
Now I see it
Everyday
And I know,
That I am
I am,
I am the Luckiest . . ."

-Ben Folds
